If you want to discover the critical zone, that thin layer of the Earth where chemical interactions between air, water, and rocks take place, which is home to life and supports life on Earth, then this school is for you.
Because the critical zone scientific initiative aims to reconnect the natural science disciplines concerned with the study of the planet’s habitable layer, the OZCAR summer school aims to bring together researchers and students from all backgrounds who wish to share their scientific questions, research methods, and scientific projects.

The theme chosen for this school is “Invisible water in the Critical Zone, from underground pathways to resources.”

During a full week, you will be able to attend lectures and presentations by observatories, participate in practical work at the Guidel site of the National Observation Service H+, and meet scientists from the critical zone: (hydro)geologists, geochemists, geophysicists, microbiologists, ecologists, as well as artists and keynote speakers who will give you an insight into the humanities and social sciences.

The program is currently being prepared and will soon be available on the school’s website.
