OZCAR & Zones Ateliers
The SNO H+ belongs to the national distributed research infrastructure OZCAR (Critical Zone Observatories: Research and Application) that include more that 60 instrumented sites dedicated to the observation and monitoring of the Critical Zone, the thin outer venner of Earth’s continents extending from the top of the vegetation canopy down to groundwater.
The Réseau des Zones Ateliers (RZA) focus on a functional unit (a river and its watershed, landscapes – agricultural or urban – and biodiversity, from Antarctica to sub-Saharan Africa, or the coastline, or the environments characterized by chronic radiation of natural or enhanced natural origin) and develop a specific scientific approach based on observations and experiments on workshops sites, to conduct multidisciplinary research in the long term. A ZA is therefore, most often, a network of workshop sites.
The H+ database has been designed to store a wide range of hydrogeophysical data from the OZCAR network’s sites as well as from some sites from the Zones Ateliers (RZA) network. It is open for archiving hydrogeophysical data and is interfaced with the Theia/OZCAR database.
OZCAR & RZA sites, whose data are currently hosted in the H+ hydrogeophysical database, are shown on the map below:

Auradé
Auradé catchment The Auradé site is a carbonate agricultural catchment (3.28 km²) drained by the Montoussé stream, a sub-tributary of the Save river. It is located 40 km west of Toulouse, in Gascogne hillsides of Southwstern France. It is an entirely agricultural basin, with crops (wheat/sunflower rotation) occupying 90% of its surface. More information can […]
Berambadi (M-Tropics)
Berambadi catchment Tropical ecosystems are impacted by the increase in human population and are associated with rapid changes in climate and land use, leading to the degradation of water and soil resources in these regions. Multiscale TROPIcal CatchmentS (M-TROPICS) observatory aims to quantify the matter balance of a range of river basins of contrasting and […]
Draix-Bléone
Draix-Bléone observatory The Draix-Bléone observatory is located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, near Digne-les-bains, South-East of France. Eight catchments with a surface of 0,0013 up to 34 km² are instrumented on the left (Draix site) and right banks of the Bléone river (Galabre site). More information can be found on the Draix-Bléone observatory website. Data access KMZ […]
Houay Pano (M-Tropics)
Houay Pano catchment Tropical ecosystems are impacted by the increase in human population and are associated with rapid changes in climate and land use, leading to the degradation of water and soil resources in these regions. Multiscale TROPIcal CatchmentS (M-TROPICS) observatory aims to quantify the matter balance of a range of river basins of contrasting […]
Mont Lozère (OHMCV)
Mont Lozère catchment The Mediterranean Hydrometerological Observatory Cévennes-Vivarais (OHMCV) is composed of four sets of instrumented sites characteristic of these regions subject to intense weather events (Mediterranean events). One of them is Mont Lozère catchment (14.5 km2 on granite, 5 sub-basins) in the Cevennes. More information can be found on the observatory website. Data access […]
Nsimi (M-Tropics)
Nsimi catchment Tropical ecosystems are impacted by the increase in human population and are associated with rapid changes in climate and land use, leading to the degradation of water and soil resources in these regions. Multiscale TROPIcal CatchmentS (M-TROPICS) observatory aims to quantify the matter balance of a range of river basins of contrasting and […]
Guadeloupe (ObsERA)
Observatory ObsERA The Observatory of water and erosion in the Antilles (OBServatoire de l’Eau et de l’éRosion aux Antilles – ObsERA) is located on Basse-Terre Island, a volcanic island of the Guadeloupe archipelago. ObsErA acquires data on 8 field sites belonging to 4 catchments located on Basse-Terre Island, a volcanic island of the Guadeloupe archipelago […]
Orgeval (ORACLE)
Orgeval site The ORACLE research observatory is one of the oldest French observatories of the critical zone. It is located in the Paris basin (70 km east of Paris). The observatory is constituted of three catchments, including the Orgeval site (104 km²) with most of the instrumentation. More information can be found on the observatory website. Data […]
Saint-Martin-le-Noeud (SNO KARTZ)
Saint Martin le Noeud site The Saint Martin le Noeud site is one of the 5 sites of the chalk karst observatory. It is an underground quarry, which us dug into weakly karstified fractured chalk, located in the Paris Basin. It is monitored by the METIS laboratory of the Sorbonne Universités (formerly UPMC-Paris6). More information […]
Strengbach (SNO OHGE)
Strengbach catchment area Located in the Vosges Mountains, the Strengbach site is instrumented by the Observatoire Hydro-Géochimique de l’Environnement (OHGE). More information can be found on the OHGE observatory website Data availability Download links You can access the data categorized by different types of measurements from the provided links below: Hydrogeophysics KMZ viewer The viewer […]
